She wanted to become a nurse, buy a house, and start a family. The Louisville Metropolitan Police came into her home at night and shot her eight times. No one has been charged or even fired for her murder.
To paraphrase anti-racism educator Monique Melton, “When black womxn will be free, we all will be free. It will mean that every system and structure that oppresses us will have been dismantled. That’s why we center black womxn”
